I spend a lot of time reading, thinking and talking with people about health care. When I speak about the Affordable Care Act, I usually ask the audience one question “If you were at the grocery store and a friend or neighbor asked you to explain what’s happening with health care reform, how many people could explain the basics?” Very few people raise their hands, even when the audience is filled with doctors, nurses and others involved in health care. That’s a problem, and that’s why I wrote this book. The book offers an easy-to-read overview of the key components of the ACA and provides links to the most current changes happening in every state. I hope it helps you figure out the basics of health care reform, find out what’s in it for you and your family, and maybe even explain it to your neighbor.

This was a well written book by a Doctor of Epidemiology. Not an MD. The title of the person is slightly misleading and I'm not sure I'm okay with that. A bit disingenuous in my opinion. However, the content of this book is good. Seems well researched. The only thing I could've wished for is that the book would've gone in depth, but what do you really expect of a .99 cent book anyways?Product details

An easy to read and understand summary of a complex subject. Could be more frank about shortcomings. Will there bee followup ?
Factual easy to understand information. Organized clearly and without bias.
Refreshing to read without any hint of anger about the ACA as well as it's impact on all of us. I have always had insurance and pray we can over time find a way for all to feel this safe way of living as we all strive for wellness rather than illness.
I have spent quite a bit of time researching the ACA. My goal was to separate fact from fiction and fear so I could make good decisions for my family and form my own opinions. "What's in it for Me?" has been one of a few resources I have found that provide straight forward information that I can understand. I highly recommend this read!
For 99 cents you can download this brief summary with chapters addressing ACA implications for women, children, and seniors. Dr. Bair explains rationale for ACA reforms with brevity. She made me smile with the observation "women spend the majority of their lives either attempting, avoiding, or dealing with pregnancy."
Well presented, covers all aspects of health care in a logical easy to understand format.
This book is a must for anyone on medicaid and medicare and / or purchasing a health insurance plan.
After months of hearing wildly different opinions about the Affordable Healthcare Act (ACA), this book provides a clear, unbiased view of what exactly the ACA does. Dr. Bair makes a complex act VERY easy to understand. She explains the reasons behind the need to fix our healthcare system, what's in the ACA, and, most importantly, the specific benefits that are now covered (including sections geared specifically toward women, children and seniors). It's a valuable resource for consumers!
