For long time I had been an admirer of Jodorowsky work, and this one didn't disappointed me. The book is beautifully drawn, helping to immerse the reader in the Alef-Thau world. I wonder how come nobody in the movie industry has taken the task to bring this one and other of his work (like The Incal) into a full motion movie, either in animation, or Avatar like. Who knows, one of these days...Now, with regards to the quality of the book and publication, it must be said that is of first class. The printing is precise, there are not "joined" pages, and very important, the book doesn't become apart when you open the pages widely. Really nice.
So you will wonder why I haven't given the 5 starts to the product?. Well, I have two things that I am not that happy with. The first one is kind of personal one, and it is related to the story itself. As I said above, I am an admirer and fan of Jodorowsky work, but for whatever reason, towards the end of the story, the author seemed to run out of stamina and rush the plot to a somehow bland kind of out of place script. Again, this is more of a personal taste, so my advice here is to read the story and come to a conclusion by yourself. By the way, I have the same thoughts about my other all time favorite, The Incal.
The second thing that kind of leaves you wanting is the printing format. Yes, I said the edition s of first quality, but what I am talking about here is related to the format. I have the Italian edition of the story, and the books are printed in a bigger format, and there is no doubt that this helps to bring the grandiosity of the artwork to the place it should be.
All in all, I will still recommend it strongly, specially if you have a wide imagination, or will like yours to be developed :). Other than the two small grips I mentioned, go for it. You won't regret it.
